Enséñanos a orar: ¡cuántas veces hemos pronunciado esta petición! Tal y como aquellos discípulos también nosotros queremos hablar con Dios, necesitamos dialogar con Él, suplicarle, alabarle, pedirle y agradecerle. La oración que hoy nos presenta Jesús, el Padre nuestro, engloba en sí misma la vida cristiana.
De pequeños, nuestros padres y abuelos nos enseñaron a rezar; con el paso de los años, nuestra oración ha ido creciendo a la par que nuestra fe; pero siempre tenemos la tentación de dudar que nuestra oración sea tal o que sea escuchada por Dios. El ejemplo del evangelio nos asegura que siempre que hablemos con Él, Dios nos escuchará. Por muy tarde que sea, o por muy impertinentes que parezcamos.
Dios siempre nos escucha, como un Padre, dispuesto a sentarse un rato al sofá con su hijo para entablar un diálogo cariñoso y atenderle en lo que necesite, darle un fuerte abrazo y estar un rato juntos. Dios siempre nos acompaña y no es complicado ponerse en contacto con Él. Pero sí hemos de tener un corazón abierto y una fe firme para ser conscientes de que nos escucha.
La oración es a la vez algo fácil y difícil. Fácil porque hablar con Dios es algo que podemos hacer en cualquier momento, prácticamente en cualquier circunstancia. Y es difícil porque a veces no sabemos exactamente qué es hacer oración, porque las ocupaciones diarias nos absorben o simplemente porque hay una gran resistencia a sentarse un rato para hablar con Dios.
Pero tampoco debemos pensar que es un imposible; del mismo modo que Dios nos habla en la Biblia, y a través de su Hijo y los sacramentos de la Iglesia, nosotros podemos acceder a Él; es más, arde en deseos de hacerse el encontradizo con nosotros.
Orar es hablar con Dios, de tú a tú, como le habla un hijo a un padre. Y a Dios podemos decirle cualquier cosa: lo que vivimos, nuestras preocupaciones, lo que hemos logrado, en lo que necesitamos su ayuda, incluso contarle nuestro día tal y como lo haríamos con la gente a la que le tenemos confianza y queremos.
La oración es un dirigirse a Dios para alabarlo, agradecerle, reconocerlo y pedirle cosas que sean para nuestro bien. Es solamente hablar con Él. Qué hermoso podernos sentar tranquilamente a charlar con el Dios en el que creemos. Seguro que disfrutaremos con nuestro Padre.
