Evangelio de la Bendición de Ramos
Siguiendo los pasos de nuestro único maestro, hoy entramos en Jerusalén; hemos recorrido juntos un camino de preparación para esta semana especial; descubriendo que Cristo ratifica sus palabras con hechos y milagros y ha sido ungido por la fuerza del Espíritu, ahora se dirige a la ciudad santa, a renovar la alianza de Dios con su pueblo.
Cerda del monte de los olivos, lugar que sería testigo de la oración amarga del redentor, Jesús quiere preparar la cena pascual con sus discípulos; y los manda por delante para que le traigan un borrico que montará en su triunfante entrada.
La gente alfombraba el camino con sus mantos; alababan las grandezas que había realizado, pues su fama era grande y los milagros que había realizado marcaron el corazón de aquellos judíos. ¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor! Jesús entra como rey en la ciudad santa.
Todo se iba cumpliendo según el plan salvífico de Dios, preparado para nuestra redención; nacido en un pesebre, criado en Nazaret, presentado ante el pueblo en el Jordán, anunciando a los pueblos la salvación con dichos y milagros: Es Cristo, el Ungido por Dios, el Esperado desde la creación del mundo. Entraba en Jerusalén y la ciudad se vestía de gala para recibirle.
¡Qué hermoso sería haber estado allí y haber podido ser uno de los que colocaran sus mantos a los pies de Cristo! Por suerte hemos tenido la dicha de conocer este mensaje y esta buena noticia. Transmitida de generación en generación y renovada cada año, estas fiestas de Pascua nos llaman a actualizar y revivir más profundamente nuestra fe.
Gritos de júbilo y alabanza para el Señor; la alegría desbordaba las calles y nada podía callar, a pesar de que reprendieran a sus discípulos los fariseos. Nada podía callar ante la entrada del Maestro en Jerusalén.
Nos queda poco para contemplar los misterios de nuestra salvación; hoy toca disfrutar de la fama de Jesús; seguirlo en la multitud de Jerusalén que lo aclama con cantos y vítores, porque llega el rey de la gloria; entra por la puerta santa para traernos a todos la salvación. Disfrutemos ahora de estos días santos en los que Dios quiere renovar su amor, una vez más y para siempre, con toda la humanidad.
