DOMINGO XV TIEMPO ORDINARIO
La palabra apóstol significa enviado, mensajero; y mejor que estas líneas evangélicas para darnos cuenta de que aquellos doce fueron los enviados por el mismo Jesús, con su autoridad y su mandato, a predicar el Reino de Dios. Al modo de las doce tribus de Israel que fueron las receptoras del mensaje de Yahve y que guardaron en medio de su pueblo el Arca de la alianza, aquellos doce hombres eran ahora enviados de dos en dos para predicar.
Sin embargo resulta curioso detenerse en algunos detalles que no se nos pueden pasar por alto; en primer lugar el apóstol es un enviado; esto significa que ha sido llamado por alguien, en este caso Jesús, para una misión concreta; no anuncia nada que no haya escuchado y de lo que no esté convencido, puesto que entonces su mensaje no sería creíble.
Por otra parte Cristo les da su autoridad; no predicaban por sí mismos, ni a sí mismos, sino lo que habían visto; con la autoridad propia del Maestro irían de dos en dos, no solos, sino acompañados en la fe, y con el respaldo de la fuerza que sólo Jesús podía ofrecerles. Para la misión que les había encomendado, Jesús quería darles unas pequeñas notas: ni pan, ni alforja, ni dinero. Nada les iba a hacer falta para anunciar la justicia, la paz y el amor.
Iban a continuar y a extender el mensaje que el Hijo de Dios había venido a anunciar; que el Reino de Dios ya estaba entre nosotros y que había que llevarlo a plenitud también con nuestra pequeña aportación; en algunos lugares serían bien recibidos, en otros no.
También actuaban con signos en medio del pueblo, expulsando demonios y curando enfermos con aceite; signos que avalaban aún más lo que iban anunciando a los demás. Y es que la Palabra, muchas veces necesita ser refrendada con gestos visibles que hagan más creíble el contenido.
También hoy, como entonces, envía Jesús, con la fuerza del Espíritu, a muchos testigos y apóstoles para que anuncien y proclamen su Reino. Los tiempos han cambiado, quizá los medios y modos de predicar; pero lo que sigue vivo y operante es su Palabra, su mensaje y, sobre todo, la autoridad con la que Él mismo envía a sus discípulos en medio del mundo.
También hoy, como entonces, el mundo necesita no sólo palabras, sino gestos y acciones significativas que sean coherentes con el Reino de Dios que se está predicando; el mundo necesita testigos fieles de Jesús, y personas enamoradas completamente de Él, que se sientan llamados y enviados a continuar su labor con fidelidad y alegría.
