HOMILÍA
En el ambiente cálido y entrañable de la Navidad, los cristianos reservamos un día para dirigir nuestra mirada hacia aquella bendita familia que formaron José, María y Jesús, para aprender de ellos el secreto de una convivencia feliz que tantas veces se nos escapa a nosotros; para examinar también nuestras propias relaciones familiares y para comprometemos muy en serio, tanto a quitar los obstáculos que nos separan, nos enfrentan a nos dividen, como a intensificar los lazos de unión, de comprensión, de armonía, de perdón incluso.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Eclesiástico. Su autor quiso inculcar en los suyos un profundo respeto hacia los padres y las personas mayores. Este respeto a los padres y a las personas mayores debe tener lugar siempre, tanto cuando son jóvenes como cuando son ancianos y les flaquean las fuerzas. El amor a los progenitores acarrea siempre, según el texto bíblico, toda clase de bendiciones, de buenos augurios por parte de Dios.
Si en esta primera lectura se nos han recordado las obligaciones que, como hijos, tenemos para con los padres y las personas mayores, en la segunda lectura San Pablo daba consejos para todos: padres e hijos, hermanos, esposos, abuelos y nietos. El invitaba a los distintos miembros de la familia a dejar a un lado lo que impida la convivencia familiar y a poner de su parte todo lo que contribuya a que la familia sea, de verdad, un hogar caliente en el que sea posible convivir en paz y en armonía, un lugar para crecer como personas y como cristianos.
El relato evangélico de San Lucas nos ha hablado de la Sagrada Familia. Por el hecho de ser una familia especial no se le evitaron problemas, ni sufrimientos. Tampoco el cumplimiento de las leyes que se esperaba de todo buen israelita. Ese niño nacido en Belén, ese Dios hecho hombre con todas las consecuencias, quiso formar parte de una familia humana normal en la que no hubiera milagros ni enseñanzas sublimes. Solo unos padres y un hijo, una casa, un trabajo, tristezas y alegrías, luchas y dificultades. Como en todas las familias, como en la de cada uno de nosotros.
Pidamos a esta sagrada Familia que bendiga las nuestras, que nos ayude a vencer nuestros egoísmos personales y a contribuir para que cualquier familia responda al plan original de Dios. Y pidamos por tantas familias que tienen dificultades de convivencia o problemas económicos. Y no nos olvidemos tampoco de la gran familia cristiana, de la Iglesia. Una Iglesia que se hace realidad en cada diócesis, en cada parroquia, en cada grupo eclesial, al que pertenecemos. Sintiéndonos parte de ella, confesemos nuestra Fe.
