DÍA DE LA IGLESIA DIOCESANA
La Iglesia está presente en los acontecimientos más importantes de la vida, acompañando a las personas que se acercan a Dios en los momentos más importantes de la existencia humana: en los felices (matrimonio, bautismo, confirmación) y también en los dolorosos (pecado, enfermedad, muerte). Por la Iglesia, el Dios del Amor, visible en Jesucristo, se acerca a cada uno para darle sentido y esperanza.
La Iglesia, como Pueblo de Dios, brinda a la sociedad valores permanentes que nos ayudan a crecer como personas y mejoran la convivencia entre los hombres: fe, defensa de los derechos humanos, fraternidad, dignidad de la persona, solidaridad, perdón, superación, esfuerzo, etc.
La Iglesia ayuda a los más necesitados de la sociedad: sin techo, familias rotas y desestructuradas, inmigrantes, ancianos, enfermos, etc.
Estas actividades son realizadas en su mayoría por personas que entregan su vida a los demás. Los sacerdotes y los agentes de pastoral, que están al servicio de la comunidad cristiana, desempeñan, una labor discreta y muchas veces ignorada que construye el bien común de la sociedad.

Atención religiosa a:
• 315.000 niños que reciben el Bautismo cada año.
• Más de 120.000 parejas que se han casado por la Iglesia en este año.
• 10 millones de católicos que asisten a Misa cada domingo.
• Cientos de miles de voluntarios que colaboran en acciones pastorales y/o son miembros activos de Asociaciones y Cofradías.
La Iglesia atiende también a:
• Cerca de 1.400.000 niños que asisten a centros educativos de la Iglesia.
• Más de 200.000 inmigrantes en distintos Servicios y Centros.
• Los privados de libertad de 77 cárceles españolas.
• Más de 50.000 niños y jóvenes de educación especial.
• Más de 25.000 huérfanos.
• Más de 57.000 ancianos.
La Iglesia trabaja a diario en:
• Más de 200 centros hospitalarios, ambulatorios y dispensarios.
• 876 casas para ancianos, enfermos crónicos, inválidos y minusválidos.
• Cerca de 900 orfanatos y centros para la tutela de la infancia.
• Más de 300 guarderías.
• 365 centros especiales de educación o reeducación social.
• 144 centros de caridad y sociales y 300 consultorios y centros para la defensa de la vida y la familia.
• 147 países donde están cerca de 18.000 sacerdotes, religiosos, religiosas y seglares en misiones.
