Fuentes de financiación
A raíz del acuerdo alcanzado entre el Estado y la Santa Sede en diciembre de 2006 el sostenimiento económico de la Iglesia católica en España depende única y exclusivamente de los católicos y de quienes valoran la labor que desarrolla en nuestro país.
Las aportaciones directas de los fieles: es la principal fuente de financiación de la Iglesia. Existen distintas modalidades: colectas, donativos, legados, herencias, etc. Pero debemos destacar las suscripciones periódicas (mensual, trimestral, semestral o anual) como el modelo más deseable.
Actualmente representan alrededor del 75% de los recursos económicos dela Iglesia. Este 75% incluye un 5% por rendimientos del patrimonio y otro 20% por otras fuentes de financiación.
Asignación Tributaria: a partir de la Declaración de la Renta 2007 (a realizar en 2008), la Iglesia recibe del Estado el 0,7% de la cuota íntegra de los contribuyentes que manifiesten su deseo de que ese porcentaje de sus impuestos se destine a la Iglesia católica.
El resultado de la Asignación viene a ser el 22-25% del presupuesto.
Rendimientos del patrimonio eclesiástico: la Iglesia ha ido constituyendo un patrimonio estable que administra con criterios de prudencia, cumpliendo la voluntad de sus donantes, y del que obtiene rendimientos, alrededor del 5%, para acometer obras apostólicas.
Otras fuentes de financiación: los ingresos por la realización de algunas actividades económicas, subvenciones a través de convocatorias públicas, etc., viene a representar un 20% del presupuesto de la Iglesia.
