«¿Necesitará mi parroquia algo de mí? ¿Necesitará catequistas? ¿Necesitará mis conocimientos profesionales como voluntario? ¿Necesitará que sea generoso con mi dinero?»

Nacidos de las aguas bautismales somos miembros de la Iglesia. ¡Qué tiempos tan bonitos nos ha tocado vivir! Unos tiempos que nos hablan de un mundo muy necesitado de Dios, muy necesitado de esperanza y muy necesitado de la alegría de un Dios que ama a los hombres. Este es el Dios que anuncia la Iglesia y el Dios en el que creemos: el Dios de Jesucristo.
Igual que muchas familias, padres, hijos, abuelos, se reúnen los domingos para comer y lo viven con alegría, también la familia de los hijos de Dios nos reunimos el domingo en la eucaristía, en el banquete al que Dios nos invita. Quizá no seamos conscientes de la alegría y del gozo que supone «poder ir a misa». Nos reunimos con nuestros hermanos en el nombre del Señor. Así comenzamos cada eucaristía: «En el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo». Unos tiempos que nos hablan de un mundo muy necesitado de Dios, muy necesitado de esperanza y muy necesitado de la alegría de un Dios que ama a los hombres. Este es el Dios que anuncia la Iglesia y el Dios en el que creemos: el Dios de Jesucristo.
En el Día de la Iglesia Diocesana celebramos que vivimos nuestra fe en una parroquia concreta, en una diócesis determinada con otros cristianos de todas las edades, y con los sacerdotes y religiosos. Celebramos que nos preside en la fe y en la caridad un obispo. Estamos llamados a experimentar todas estas alegrías nacidas del bautismo en el seno de la maternidad de la Iglesia. No vivimos la fe en soledad, sino en comunidad junto a otros hermanos nuestros.
¿Cómo desentendernos de nuestra Iglesia diocesana? ¿Cómo no preocuparnos por nuestra parroquia? En la parroquia hemos recibido el don de la fe por el bautismo, que es el mayor regalo de amor, de misericordia, de comprensión, de alegría, que se nos da. Pero lo que hemos recibido gratis, hemos de darlo gratis. ¿Necesitará mi parroquia algo de mí? ¿Necesitará catequistas? ¿Necesitará mis conocimientos profesionales como voluntario? ¿Necesitará que sea generoso con mi dinero?
Por eso, «Participar en tu parroquia es hacer una declaración de principios». Es reconocernos hijos de Dios, hermanos unos de otros, miembros de la misma comunidad parroquial, insertada en la gran comunidad de la diócesis.
