MARÍA NOS INVITA A SALIR AL ENCUENTRO DE CRISTO
Queridos hermanos en el Señor:
Os deseo gracia y paz.
En Adviento salimos al encuentro del Señor que viene. Él es quien tiene la iniciativa. Es Él quien planta su tienda entre nosotros, para compartir nuestra historia y darle orientación y significado.
El misterio de la encarnación no es posible sin el protagonismo del Espíritu Santo. Y también depende de la afirmación de la Virgen María, que acoge y hace suyo el divino proyecto de amor.
La acogida activa con que la Virgen acepta el plan de Dios es un referente y un estímulo para nuestras vidas. No se trata de un mero asentimiento pasivo. No es una aceptación exenta de dificultades. No es una decisión momentánea y precipitada. María es una peregrina en la fe y contamos con su ejemplo y su intercesión, porque su decisión tiene consecuencias para toda la historia de la humanidad.
La prontitud con la que la Virgen se dirige a atender a su pariente Isabel (cf. Lc 1,39) también nos indica un modo de proceder, una manera de ser y un estilo de vivir. La suya siempre será una vida desarrollada en clave de servicio y disponibilidad.
Más tarde, experimentará la incertidumbre más tensa cuando no encuentre a Jesús niño entre los familiares y lo descubra, finalmente, entre los maestros del templo (cf. Lc 2,41–52). La zozobra se convertirá en alegría, y la espera se transformará en un conocimiento más profundo de la identidad de su Hijo.
Llegarán días en que también saldrá por las calles y plazas al encuentro de Jesús deseándole ver (cf. Mc 3,31–32).
La Virgen María nos enseña a estar atentos a cualquier circunstancia que pueda convertir una fiesta en un fracaso. Su intervención en las bodas de Caná (cf. Jn 2,1–12) indica una sensibilidad y una capacidad de reflejos que vencen nuestra predisposición a la indiferencia y a la pasividad.
Ella se mantiene digna junto a la cruz de su Hijo (cf. Jn 19,25), con actitud de dolor intenso y de esperanza profunda. Ella, Madre del crucificado, sabe esperar en oración con el grupo de los discípulos el amanecer del día más radiante de la historia en el que la muerte pierde su aguijón y el amor triunfa sobre la violencia.
Después de la Ascensión de su Hijo, María persevera en la oración unánime de la Iglesia naciente (cf. Hch 1,14).
María Inmaculada, totalmente limpia, íntegramente bella, es estrella de la evangelización, modelo de caminante en Adviento.
