“SERÉIS MIS TESTIGOS”
Queridos hermanos en el Señor:
Os deseo gracia y paz.
Nos sentimos corresponsables en el anuncio del Evangelio y en la profundización de la vida de fe en los territorios de primera evangelización. Es necesario apoyar a las nuevas Iglesias particulares en su nacimiento, crecimiento y desarrollo. Es urgente acompañar y animar, de modo solidario y fraterno, con la oración y la colaboración económica.
El Papa Francisco, en su Mensaje para la Jornada Mundial de las Misiones 2022, titulado “Para que seáis mis testigos (Hch 1,8)”, afirma que la llamada misionera de los discípulos de Cristo tiene “carácter comunitario–eclesial”: “Todo bautizado está llamado a la misión en la Iglesia y bajo el mandato de Iglesia. La misión por tanto se realiza de manera conjunta, no individualmente, en comunión con la comunidad eclesial y no por propia iniciativa”.
Además, “a los discípulos se les pide vivir su vida personal en clave de misión. Jesús los envía al mundo no sólo para realizar la misión, sino también y sobre todo para vivir la misión que se les confía; no sólo para dar testimonio, sino también y sobre todo para ser sus testigos”.
El testimonio tiene decisiva importancia: “para la trasmisión de la fe es fundamental el testimonio de vida evangélica de los cristianos”.
Jesús Resucitado anuncia a sus discípulos que son enviados “hasta el confín de la tierra” (Hch 1,8). Según el Papa, esto “deberá interrogar a los discípulos de Jesús de todo tiempo y los debe impulsar a ir siempre más allá de los lugares habituales para dar testimonio de Él”.
Los discípulos escuchan las palabras de Jesús: “Recibiréis la fuerza del Espíritu Santo que va a venir sobre vosotros” (ibíd.). El Santo Padre añade que “ningún cristiano puede dar testimonio pleno y genuino de Cristo el Señor sin la inspiración y el auxilio del Espíritu. Por eso todo discípulo misionero de Cristo está llamado a reconocer la importancia fundamental de la acción del Espíritu, a vivir con Él en lo cotidiano y recibir constantemente su fuerza e inspiración”.
Con admiración, asombro y gratitud contemplamos la vida y el esfuerzo de quienes trabajan en territorios de misión. Y nos hacemos una triple reflexión:
1) De poco sirve admirar su heroísmo si no realizamos acciones heroicas.
2) De poco sirve asombrarnos de los kilómetros que les separan de sus familias si no damos ningún paso para que disminuya la distancia entre ellos y nosotros.
3) De poco sirve agradecer su dedicación si no dedicamos tiempo agradecido para acompañar su labor.
