Al estilo de los antiguos historiadores comienza Lucas la narración de su evangelio; como si quisiera quedar muy claro desde el principio su intencionalidad y a quién dirige estas palabras. Queda patente, en primer lugar, que la Buena Noticia que narra Lucas fue transmitida oralmente en un primer momento.
Me parece digno de señalar este hecho por un motivo especial: tan importante fue dicha transmisión oral, y tan crucial resultó para los contemporáneos de Jesús, que la fueron legando de boca en boca tal y como lo habían recibido; como si de un tesoro se tratase, o como si fuera una gran jarra de agua fresca de la cual no se podía derramar gota alguna.
Esta transmisión oral, este llevar de boca en boca y de persona a persona lo que Jesús hizo y dijo a lo largo de su vida, Lucas lo ha querido recoger por orden en lo que llamamos evangelio según Lucas. Y todo ello para que quien lo escuche sepa todo lo referente al mensaje de Jesús con fidelidad a lo acontecido.
Y es que la Palabra de Dios no puede ser desvirtuada, sino anunciada tal y como se ha recibido, con valentía, con fidelidad y con veracidad. Así se hizo en las primeras comunidades cristianas que, al celebrar el primer día de la semana, la Eucaristía, escuchaban y releían el mensaje del único Maestro que es Cristo. Y desde entonces, en comunidad y en Iglesia, lo seguimos repitiendo con el mismo cariño y empeño que aquellas comunidades lo vivían.
Y este primer pasaje que hoy podemos leer, después de los textos que hacen referencia al nacimiento de Jesús, nos sitúa en el cumplimiento de las escrituras del Antiguo Testamento. En Jesús se hacen realidad las promesas realizadas por Dios en boca de los profetas. El Espíritu está sobre Él y su misión ha comenzado: instaurar el Reino de Dios, del cual nosotros hemos sido constituidos también en heraldos y mensajeros.
El Reino de Dios se convierte en el tema central de la predicación de Jesús y podríamos decir que hasta fue el motivo de su muerte en cruz. Por ser fiel a dicho mensaje de salvación, por anunciar la buena noticia de la liberación a los pobres y oprimidos, la envidia de fariseos, saduceos… llevó al patíbulo a Cristo. Jesús es el mensajero fiel que nos envió el Padre para hacer presente aquí y ahora ese Reino de Dios que es paz, justicia y amor.
Tal y como lo hemos recibido, tal y como hicieron nuestros antecesores, nosotros hemos de transmitirlo a los demás. No olvidando, en ningún momento, que nuestra mirada y nuestros labios deben dirigirse a Cristo, como único Salvador de toda la humanidad desde su muerte y resurrección.
