Dónde está el bien, dónde está lo bueno...
Por supuesto, que el bien, lo bueno y el Bueno –porque bueno sólo es Dios– están en la iglesia. Pero, ¿sólo en la iglesia? No. La huella de Dios al crear todos los seres es una huella de bondad, de modo que en el transcurrir de la naturaleza y en el quehacer de los hombres se descubren vestigios más o menos evidentes de la Divinidad. Estas señales permiten al ser humano remontarse a través de una cadena de bondades hasta su origen, que es al mismo tiempo el origen de todo. Estos vestigios permiten no solo descubrir que “todo era bueno”, sino también pensar con optimismo el futuro: no idolatrar el progreso (esa idea moderna de progreso que no es otra cosa que la esperanza cristiana secularizada), sino descubrir la buena orientación de las cosas y de las vivencias y mostrarla a la humanidad.
Esta omnipresencia del bien no es una excusa para la falta de lucha por corresponder a la gracia divina, que nos hace hijos; tampoco es una excusa para la falta de ardor apostólico. Más bien lo contrario: la presencia totalizante del bien en la vida es lo que nos lleva a amar y ser misericordiosos y compasivos con todos. No a ser celosos como Josué, no a recriminar como Juan, sino a desear que “todo el pueblo del Señor fuera profeta y recibiera el espíritu del Señor” y a saber que “el que no está contra nosotros está a favor nuestro”. Entonces ante un mundo y una humanidad buenos por naturaleza, ¿cuál es la misión de la iglesia que es sagrario del Bueno? Señalar que Dios Trinidad Amor es el origen de todo lo bueno que tenemos en nuestras manos y que sólo en él se puede encontrar la plenitud para el ser y el obrar. En una realidad buena, la iglesia debe ser quien señale al autor de toda bondad e implore el espíritu del Señor para que todos adoren al Creador y acepten en Cristo la salvación.
“El que no está contra nosotros está a favor nuestro”. Cuidado, no el que realiza en ocasiones obras similares a las que los cristianos hacen, sino “el que no está contra nosotros”. En el hoy de la historia podemos creer con ingenuidad que porque alguien o alguna institución realice obras como las que corresponden a la iglesia sean la misma iglesia. Pero no: las obras buenas tienen un valor en sí mismas y tendrán su premio, pero no significan que el que las lleve a cabo sea un hombre o una mujer renovado en Cristo. De hecho las ideologías del siglo XX o los populismos del XXI también tienen algún rasgo de bondad. Sin embargo, esa bondad no conduce al bien ni al Bueno, sino que alejan. Ahí es donde tiene que estar nuestra profecía.
A punto de comenzar octubre, vamos a mirar a María y con ella, en el rosario, vamos a mirar a Jesús.
