SOLEMNIDAD DE LA ASCENSIÓN
A la derecha del Padre. Pero, como bien explica Joseph Ratzinger/Benedicto XVI en su libro Jesús de Nazaret II, esta nueva forma de presencia “no es espacial, sino, precisamente, divina” y significa “participar en la soberanía de Dios sobre todo espacio”. Y sobre todo tiempo.
Por la Ascensión, la majestad de Dios nos envuelve, nos acompaña, tira de nosotros de manera que las palabras y los gestos de un cristiano que vive cara a Dios se convierten en milagros de salvación que garantizan la necesidad y bondad de la evangelización, del “id al mundo entero…”. Un mandato, este del id, que es una forma de vivir la caridad y el mandamiento nuevo del “amad”. El id y proclamad tiene un carácter universal basado principalmente en el ser de Dios y en el carácter del nuevo estar de Jesucristo. Porque ahora, una vez que ha ascendido al cielo, Jesús está presente de un modo novedoso: ya no está en un solo sitio, sino que está en todos; está con todos y cada uno de los miembros de la Iglesia; y, además, nos permite que todos estemos con Él. Vivir el cielo en la tierra nos sería imposible si Cristo, el Señor, no estuviese sentado “a la derecha del Padre”, más cerca de nosotros que nunca.
Está tan cerca que no tiene sentido quedarse mirando al cielo, de ahí la pregunta de los “dos hombres vestidos de blanco”. Mirar al cielo pensando que Jesucristo se aleja, perdiéndose entre las nubes es un retroceso en la fe, una vuelta al paganismo que considera a los dioses personajes lejanos: ¡pero si Él es verdadero Dios y verdadero Hombre!, ¡si sigue presente!, ¡más que nunca! No podemos plantarnos y renunciar a la partida, sería renunciar a nuestra dignidad humana enriquecida, por si fuera poco, con nuestra realidad de hijos de Dios. Victoria y esperanza son dos realidades que acompañan a quienes se alegran con la Ascensión del Señor. Victoria, porque la muerte está vencida. Esperanza, porque nuestra Cabeza ya reina. Victoria y esperanza que alientan en la urgencia de la evangelización en el aquí y ahora de nuestra vida.
“Ellos fueron y proclamaron”. Y proclaman y proclamamos y proclamarán. Mientras haya Iglesia (y “las puertas del infierno no prevalecerán”) la proclamación del Evangelio será una realidad, porque es el mismo Señor quien se ha empeñado en actuar y confirmar a los enviados en su nombre. Vayamos, pues, y proclamemos. No hay que temer, hay que alegrarse de esta misión.
Con María, permanecemos a la espera del Espíritu, “espíritu de sabiduría y revelación” para conocer al “Padre de la gloria”.
