COMENTARIO: Cualquier texto de la Pasión que leamos nos llena de estremecimiento y emoción; los últimos momentos del Mesías en la tierra narrados hoy por Mateo; narrado con singular colorido y multitud de detalles, resulta ser el momento más importante del evangelio; ya lo dicen algunos que el evangelio es el relato de la Pasión con una amplia introducción.
Comienza la Pasión de hoy con una traición, la de Judas; y casi concluye con una confesión crucial: Realmente este hombre era hijo de Dios, por parte del centurión y sus hombres. Y en el medio, las últimas palabras, a modo de testamento, y los últimos momentos de Jesús con los que quería.
A Jesús lo recibieron entre cantos, entre alegría; su entrada en Jerusalén, la ciudad santa, es signo de que todos quieren verle como el gran Mesías el prometido desde todos los tiempos. Pero Jerusalén será el lugar de suplicio y gloria de ese mismo Mesías.
A lo largo de todo su evangelio Jesús había quedado muy claro su idea de reinado: sabéis que los jefes de las naciones los gobiernan como señores absolutos y los tiranizan; no sea así entre vosotros: el que quiera ser el primero que sea puesto servidor. Si de verdad queréis ser los primeros poneos al servicio de vuestros hermanos. Hoy, quedará clara esa entrega de la que habló a lo largo de su vida, una entrega hasta la muerte.
La Pasión fue la conclusión de la vida de Jesús y el hecho más importante para las historia de la humanidad; todo un Dios hecho hombre que nos fue enseñando cómo debíamos vivir… Una vida marcada por el servicio a los demás, pero una vida que fue sacrificada en favor de todos. Era necesario que el Mesías padeciera, recordarán más tarde sus discípulos, y ahora sí podemos entender sus palabras y no callarnos, como si hubiéramos asistido a la Transfiguración.
Leer la Pasión y no sentir la emoción de sentirnos salvados en ese texto es no entender la misión de Cristo; entre líneas podemos sentir la mirada tierna del Mesías que se dirige al suplicio de la cruz para devolvernos la vida. Dando un fuerte grito, expiró, y en ese aliento se nos devolvía a nosotros la posibilidad de confesarle como el verdadero Hijo de Dios.
