JORNADA MUNDIAL Y COLECTA VOCACIONES NATIVAS
¿Qué es Vocaciones Nativas?
La Jornada de Vocaciones Nativas es un día especial dedicado a la oración y la cooperación económica con los jóvenes que son llamados a la vocación sacerdotal o religiosa en los territorios de misión.
En los territorios se encuentran las iglesias más jóvenes que están aún en proceso de implantación, y que son confiados a la Congregación para la Evangelización de los Pueblos. Dentro de las cuatro Obras Pontificias que dependen de esta Congregación, se encuentra la de San Pedro Apóstol, responsable de la Jornada de las Vocaciones Nativas.
En España, esta Jornada se celebra el domingo 27 de abril bajo el lema "Misioneros por vocación". Con esta jornada se intenta concienciar de la importancia de ayudar a los jóvenes que lo necesiten, a cumplir su vocación en cualquier lugar del mundo en la que haya surgido.
La Jornada tiene colecta que se destina a las Vocaciones Nativas. Pero no se trata sólo de una jornada puntual, sino que durante todo el año la Obra está en contacto con los proyectos que financia. La colaboración económica está abierta siempre a través de las becas de estudios, y los donativos domiciliados.
La importancia de las Vocaciones Nativas
El Evangelio no ha arraigado plenamente en una cultura, si no ha suscitado en ella vocaciones consagradas al Señor, sea en el sacerdocio o la vida religiosa.
Los dos Papas que son canonizados providencialmente el mismo día de la Jornada de Vocaciones Nativas, han concedido suma importancia al florecimiento de vocaciones en las iglesias más jóvenes.
Juan XXIII las consideraba expresión de la madurez eclesial, que toma el relevo de los misioneros; y Juan Pablo II pedía “al Señor que nadie llamado al sacerdocio o a la vida religiosa en tierras de misión quede excluido por falta de recursos materiales o económicos”.
