Domingo de Pentecostés
Nos situamos de nuevo el primer día de la semana para ser testigos de un acontecimiento fundamental para el inicio de la Iglesia, la fiesta de Pentecostés. Jesús vuelve a acercarse a los suyos, que, aún temerosos, tenían las puertas cerradas. Pero aquél día de la semana tan significativo todo iba a cambiar; el miedo se volvería ilusión y valentía para anunciar con la fuerza del Espíritu el evangelio del que habían sido testigos.
La paz con la que saluda Jesús a sus amigos es un don que acompañará la fe y sostendrá la misión de la Iglesia. Y la alegría es la consecuencia necesaria de sentir y experimentar que el Maestro había resucitado tal y como había prometido. Paz y alegría íntimamente unidos y signos inequívocos de que Cristo habita en medio de su comunidad de creyentes, en su Iglesia.
Hoy celebramos la fiesta de Pentecostés, la venida del Espíritu Santo sobre los Apóstoles; al final del relato evangélico, tras donarles su paz y llenarse de alegría Jesús les envía su Espíritu. Señor y Dador de vida, le confesamos en el Credo; por medio de Él podemos conocer quién es Dios y su fuerza nos acompaña en la misión de ser testigos en medio del mundo.
Con el envío del Espíritu Santo, Cristo comienza una nueva creación, un nuevo mundo; todo ha cambiado: la tiniebla fue vencida por la luz de un claro y nuevo amanecer que recreó todas las cosas en la resurrección del Señor del universo. Es precisamente el Espíritu Santo quien nos posibilita conocer todo esto. Es Él quien nos abre la mente y el corazón para entender todo lo que se refiere a Jesús en las Escrituras.
Señor de la vida y fuerza en el camino, soplo y aliento de eternidad. Debemos avivar en nosotros ese fuego que brotó en nuestro Bautismo con la crismación; no podemos dejar que se apaguen las ascuas del Espíritu; cada día es un nuevo amanecer, una nueva oportunidad que se nos brinda para continuar la misión de Cristo: reconciliar a los hombres con Dios en la extensión su Reino.
Aquellos hombres temerosos volvieron a nacer de nuevo y en nombre de Jesús perdonaron y retuvieron pecados. A aquellos discípulos les cambió radicalmente la vida con la efusión del Espíritu Santo. Ese mismo Espíritu debe brillar en nosotros y debe hacer arder al mundo con el amor de Dios.
Es la fiesta de Pentecostés, es el día para recordar que somos Templo del Espíritu Santo y testigos de la resurrección del Señor.
