Deus semper maior o la inmensidad de Dios
¿Qué es celebrar la solemnidad de la Santísima Trinidad? Algo muy sencillo: proclamar –como canta la antífona de comunión de la misa– “gloria al Padre, al Hijo y al Espíritu Santo. Al Dios que es, que era y que vendrá”. Esta gloria que supera nuestras dimensiones humanas, se hace presente, como el plan de Dios se hizo carne en el seno virginal de María, en el momento del bautismo. La gloria del Dios Inmenso es que seamos hijos suyos en Jesucristo por la obra del Espíritu Santo y, todo esto, en la iglesia. Creo que de ahí viene el último mandato de Jesús: “Id y haced discípulos de todos los pueblos, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo”.
Esta gloria también se hace presente en el mandato nuevo del amor. ¿Cómo si no, vamos a amar? Amarnos unos a otros, como Jesús nos ha amado, amando a los que nos odian, a nuestros enemigos, bendiciéndolos y orando por ello, solo es posible viviendo, moviéndonos y existiendo en la Trinidad Santísima.
Si la Trinidad habita o in-habita en los cristianos injertados en esa corriente de vida a la que llamamos gracia, tendríamos que poder afirmar que lo más parecido en este mundo a Dios–Trinidad–de–Personas es la iglesia. La iglesia es relación porque continuamente es convocada por la voz del Espíritu Santo, que es el amor del Padre y del Hijo. Realizar esta piadosa afirmación acerca de la iglesia forma parte del misterio. Si la Trinidad es misterio, la iglesia también lo es. Ante esta realidad del misterio, los cristianos de nuestro tiempo, entre los que nos incluimos los católicos, tenemos dos tentaciones fundamentales: confundir misterio con enigma y adoptar frente al Dios Inmenso una solución técnica.
Pensar que Dios Uno y Trino es un enigma no resta nada a la gloria de Dios, pero nos incapacita para abandonarnos en sus manos. Cuando llega esta fiesta, frecuentemente se nos pregunta a los sacerdotes “y esto, ¿cómo es?”. Sobra el “cómo”. Esto es. Más bien. Este, nuestro Dios, es. Los enigmas se solucionan, pero el misterio no tiene solución. Del misterio se vive y al misterio se adora. Esta es la existencia cristiana: vivir de Dios Trinidad, adorando su Unidad Todopoderosa. Y así viven los monjes y las monjas contemplativas. Por cierto, sin aburrirse. ¿Una solución técnica a la Trinidad? Pensar que la Trinidad es una enseñanza del tipo “Dios, la mejor comunidad”. No. La Trinidad no es una enseñanza. Dios es inmenso porque es supersimple. Deus simplicissimus. Y la vida de los hijos de Dios será más grande, cuanto más simple sea. Quizá, al final, el mensaje final de este día sea que seamos sencillos, para adorar como niños recién nacidos a quienes han derrochado con ellos tanto amor. Ese Amor de Dios y que es Dios, que se nos ha dado. La Virgen María sabe cómo vivir con Dios Trinidad y nos ayudará a hacerlo.
