Domingo XIV. Tiempo Ordinario. Ciclo C.
Vino Jesús a predicar el Reino de de Dios, a hacerlo presente en medio del mundo, a reconciliar a toda la humanidad con su Padre; y para ello se rodeó de un pequeño grupo de discípulos que lo seguían por el camino y que fueron transmitiendo todo lo que vieron y escucharon de su Maestro y Señor. Así lo podemos leer en este evangelio de Lucas.
Designo a setenta y dos y los envió a los lugares donde quería ir Él. De dos en dos, anunciando en su nombre que el Reino de Dios ya está entre nosotros; que vino al mundo la paz y que Dios es amor. Pero también era muy consciente de que la tarea no les iba a resultar fácil. Les enviaba como corderos en medio de lobos.
Se ponían en camino; seguramente con la ilusión y la alegría de que llevaban un gran mensaje a todos; un mensaje que era la buena noticia de la salvación que tanto ansiaba el pueblo de Israel; llevarían la paz por los lugares que pasarían; como equipaje sólo la Palabra que habían recibido y de la que estaban convencidos plenamente.
La mies es mucha y los obreros pocos; no han cambiado mucho las cosas desde entonces; sigue siendo ardua la tarea de la predicación y de la extensión del Reino de Dios a la que todos estamos llamados. Pocos los que quieren dedicar su vida fielmente a esta tarea. E igualmente existen los lobos que deboran todo aquello que huele a cristianismo. Pero a nada hay que temer. La Iglesia no es dueña del mensaje, debe transmitirlo.
Aunque las circunstancias no hayan cambiado mucho, los cristianos sí vivimos de otro modo. Tal vez no nos sentimos llamados por Jesús a formar parte de esos setenta y dos. Tal vez nos cuesta ponernos en camino por el miedo y las dificultades que se nos presentarán. No tengamos miedo. Cristo está con nosotros. Y seamos conscientes de que si nosotros somos cristianos es porque Él nos ha llamado y alguien nos ha transmitido su Evangelio.
Ahora es nuestra la tarea de la evangelización; no podemos mirar a otro lado; nos corresponde a cada uno de nosotros llevarla Buena Noticiade la salvación a los que nos rodean. Y no tengamos miedo. Sólo predicamos la salvación.
