HOMILÍA
En medio del frío del invierno surge, todos los años, en este día, el calor que nos viene de aquel pesebre en el que todo un Dios pasa sus primeras horas como hombre. Nuestros ojos le miran a través de tantas imágenes del Niño Jesús que hemos puesto en los Belenes de nuestras casas, de nuestras Parroquias, de nuestras montañas, de nuestras calles y plazas. Dejemos que nuestros corazones sientan la alegría de sabernos acompañados por aquel que ha venido a compartir nuestra existencia.
Le miramos a él, sí, y él nos mira a nosotros y, sin palabras, nos viene a decir: “No estáis solos. Yo estaré siempre a vuestro lado sembrando paz en los corazones de todos; poniendo alivio en tantas enfermedades, consuelo en tantas lágrimas, sonrisas en tantas caras tristes. No temáis, no tengáis miedo, tratad de ser felices, de hacer el bien, de ser una brasa caliente en cualquier rincón helado”.
“Y mirad a los que están a vuestro lado, preocupaos por ellos, descubrir sus necesidades. Reavivad el amor a los miembros de vuestras familias, a los vecinos, a los amigos, a los que os encontréis en la calle, a los desconocidos a quienes veis por primera vez. También a los enemigos, a aquellos con los que no os lleváis bien, a los que os han hecho daño. Yo os recordaré, en más de una ocasión, que el amor está llamado a ser vuestro signo distintivo. Rezad por todos, sí, porque rezad por alguien es el primer paso para demostrarle que le queréis”.
“Desde este pesebre que me acoge en mis primeras horas, os invito a uniros a otros para hacer un mundo mejor. A vuestro lado está Cáritas que, en estos días, pide vuestra colaboración económica para ayudar a los que no pueden llegar a fin de mes, a los que no tienen lo necesario para vivir. Si me queréis a mí, si besáis mi imagen de madera o de escayola, quered y besad también a todos los que sufren o son pobres.”
