II Domingo de Cuaresma. Ciclo C.
Este evangelio que narra la Transfiguración de Cristo en el monte, nos sitúa en la esfera de la manifestación divina; el Padre ratifica la misión del Hijo y lo muestra ante aquellos asombrados discípulos y la presencia de Moisés y Elías. No resulta complicado imaginarse semejante escena.
Ya conocemos la importancia que tiene la montaña como lugar privilegiado para la manifestación de Dios; había llegado el momento oportuno para unir lo divino y lo humano; era preciso, casi a mitad del recorrido de la vida de Cristo, que se mostrara al Hijo de Dios como nexo de unión entre el Creador y la criatura.
En medio de la oración, herramienta fundamental para este tiempo de cuaresma que vivimos, el rostro del Mesías cambia; y Moisés y Elías hablan con Él sobre su futuro, sobre su muerte en Jerusalén; durante mucho tiempo se había preparado la llegada del Mesías; los profetas lo habían anunciado como salvador y como libertador; la Ley era el camino para acercarse a Dios; y la oración el camino privilegiado para escuchar su Palabra.
Ahora todo un cúmulo de tradiciones se juntaban en el monte: la promesa hecha carne en Cristo, unido a la gran tradición del Antiguo Testamento; lo nuevo daba paso a la promesa realizada. Cristo es la plenitud de la ley y los profetas.
Ninguno de los discípulos sabía lo que estaba pasando; pero fue Pedro el que se atrevió a proponer hacer unas tiendas en aquel lugar sagrado; confundidos, alucinados, asustados por semejante acontecimiento escuchan la voz del Padre que ratifica a Jesús como su Hijo, el único al que debemos escuchar y seguir. Y durante un tiempo aquellos discípulos guardaron silencio, porque tal vez era necesario seguir el camino marcado por Dios para reconciliar lo humano y lo divino.
Pero ahora es el tiempo favorable: ya conocemos que Él ha dado la vida por nosotros; sabemos lo que sucedió en Jerusalén y cómo aconteció nuestra salvación definitiva. Ahora es el tiempo del anuncio, de narrar con fe y con obras lo que en aquel monte sucedió. Cristo es el verdadero Hijo de Dios. Se ha manifestado la gloria del Padre en su Hijo predilecto. Nada hay que callar.
La cuaresma es un tiempo de preparación a la Pascua; y este evangelio de la transfiguración nos muestra lo que está por venir: el paso de Dios por nuestras vidas. Pero ya no debemos ser como aquellos discípulos temerosos y asustadizos; ahora nos toca anunciar con gozo la salvación realizada en Cristo. Pero una salvación que pasa también por una verdadera conversión del corazón. Convertid vuestra vida, volved la mirada al que traspasaron y reconoced la voz que nos señala a Jesús como el Hijo único al que debemos escuchar. Abramos nuestro corazón.
