3 Domingo de Pascua
La larga crisis está haciendo mella en el corazón de las personas, que poco a poco van perdiendo la esperanza de poder salir de ella. Sobre todo los jóvenes tienen la sensación de que el futuro está totalmente bloqueado. El papa Francisco nos invita a mirar al futuro con esperanza. Ha repetido varias veces. “No os dejéis robar la esperanza. No permitamos que la banalicen con soluciones y propuestas inmediatas que obstruyen el camino”.
Para reanimar nuestra esperanza nos viene bien el evangelio de los discípulos de Emaús (Lc 24,13–35). El punto de partida es la frustración humana que, a pesar de todo, sigue discutiendo sobre lo ocurrido, sigue buscando. No podemos resignarnos a que el mundo sea como es. Otro mundo es posible. Jesús se hace presente, aunque se experimenta la imposibilidad de reconocerlo. Jesús va a actuar de verdadero catequista. Empieza interesándose por sus experiencias humanas frustrantes. ¡Cuántas ilusiones perdidas!
Para muchos los últimos cincuenta años son la experiencia del fracaso del cristianismo sobre todo en Europa. Los hombres han ido construyendo la historia y la sociedad de espaldas a Dios, como si Dios no existiera. La situación actual difícilmente era previsible en los comienzos. Habría que haber sido profeta como David para intuir el futuro (Hech 2,14.22–33), o quizás el futuro es siempre novedad y no se deja predecir. Jesús interpreta el fracaso de la cruz a la luz de la Palabra. Los planes de Dios no son los del triunfalismo y el éxito sino el pasar a través de la muerte a la resurrección. Los discípulos fueron sintiendo que sus corazones se caldeaban e iba desapareciendo la tristeza al escuchar a aquel desconocido.
Se hicieron tan amigos de aquel compañero de camino que le invitaron a quedarse con ellos pues el estaba llegando la puesta de sol. Jesús aceptó la invitación y al sentarse a la mesa, fue él el que tomó la iniciativa de romper el pan para dárselo. Entonces se dieron cuenta de que no era la primera vez que lo hacía con ellos. Era Jesús en persona el que estaba allí. Entonces se produjo la apertura de los ojos de la fe, pero no pudieron ya retener a Jesús. Se fue para que ellos tuvieran libertad de acción. Enseguida se dieron cuenta de la tontería que habían hecho al marcharse de Jerusalén donde quedaba la comunidad de los discípulos. Volvieron inmediatamente y comentaron con los de allí lo que les había ocurrido. También en Jerusalén se habían encontrado con el Maestro resucitado.
Dios no le garantizó a Jesús el éxito, ni nos lo ha prometido tampoco a nosotros. No es en el triunfo humano en el que hemos puesto nuestra confianza sino que “habéis puesto en Dios vuestra fe y vuestra esperanza” (1 Ped 1,17–21). El éxito humano y numérico es muy relativo. Lo que cuenta es el bien que se hace. Pero ni tan siquiera tenemos garantía de que haremos una obra bien hecha. Tampoco a Jesús le salieron las cosas perfectamente bien. Hay sin duda muchas obras buenas y bien hechas en nuestro cristianismo español. Pero no es eso lo importante en la fe cristiana. Lo que cuenta es la fidelidad a la persona de Jesús y a su mensaje. Que la celebración de la eucaristía nos permite reconocer al Señor resucitado y nos una más íntimamente a la comunidad eclesial.
