VI DOMINGO ORDINARIO
Jesús sigue su camino apostólico. Le acompaña su fama de hombre bueno. Le sale al paso un leproso, que de rodillas le pide que lo cure. Jesús lo toca y lo cura de su enfermedad.
Cuánto habría sufrido este hombre. Por lo que era esta enfermedad: dolorosa, repugnante, sin remedio. Y por la marginación a que estaban sujetos. Eran malditos. Intocables. Por la calle sólo podían ir a escondidas o avisando de su paso para que la gente se apartara.
Sabía que Jesús era distinto. Que no hacía ascos a su persona y que lo podía curar. Fue tal la alegría de verse curado, que aún desobedeciendo a Jesús, que le pidió silencio a los cuatro vientos el milagro que le habían hecho.
También nosotros podemos hacer nuestra la petición del enfermo: "Si quieres, puedes limpiarme". ¡De tantas cosas nos puede limpiar!
Pero también, como Jesús, podemos ayudar a muchos hermanos.
LEPROSOS DE NUESTRO TIEMPO
Cuando hoy leemos este Evangelio, no podemos dejar de pensar en ese número inmenso de hombres y mujeres, que son los verdaderos marginados de nuestro mundo y necesitan el milagro de nuestra generosidad: las víctimas del hambre. Nos hacemos a las cifras y no nos impresiona, que nos digan, que cada dos segundos muere un niño porque nadie le ayuda o que más de mil millones de hombres viven en la miseria más absoluta. Y que no tengan acceso al agua potable o que el índice medio de vida no pasa de 35 ó 40 años. Lo vamos entendiendo como un mal inevitable, sin que se nos conmuevan las entrañas, cuando nosotros oímos hablar del estado de bienestar.
Es verdad que crece en el mundo una mayor sensibilidad. Cada día son más las voces que levantan su protesta y quieren hacer algo porque cambie esta situación. Pero es tan lento este movimiento de sensibilización y tan desproporcionados los medios que ponemos, que cada día crecen las víctimas del hambre.
El día que los altos dirigentes del mundo digan ¡basta! y decidan orientar los recursos suficientes para que el drama termine, será el de la cita más alta de humanidad en la Historia, después que Jesús se hizo hombre.
Y los discípulos de Jesús habrán creído, de verdad, que todo hombre es un hermano.
"TU INDIFERENCIA TE HACE cómplice"
Pero, hoy por hoy, esa solución se queda en un sueño. Y mucha gente de buen corazón queremos unir muchas manos y llevar una solución a millones y millones de personas. Este es el empeño de 'Manos Unidas" y otras Organizaciones No Gubernamentales, empeñadas en cambiar la situación de muchas personas.
Se conocen zonas concretas de la Geografía de la pobreza en las que una escuela o un dispensario o ayudas para el cultivo o un internado... les garantiza una nueva esperanza de vida. Y, desde aquí, nos comprometemos a que, con nuestra colaboración ellos sean protagonistas de su propio desarrollo. Les ayudamos a que realicen estos Proyectos. Yo mismo he sido testigo de cómo, gracias a "Manos Unidas", zonas extensas de la India, han ido cambiando con estos Proyectos. El año pasado en la Colecta del Día de la Campaña se pudieron recoger millones de euros que fueron íntegras a los países del subdesarrollo. (Es poquísimo lo que se gasta en estructuras, ya que casi todo el personal es voluntario)....
