coloca sobre mis ojos algo que despierte mi ceguera.
¡Son tantas cosas las que no veo con claridad!
Confundo, la verdad, con mis propias verdades
tu voluntad con mis oportunos caprichos.
Quiero ver, Señor, pero con tus ojos.
Que no me conforme con lo puramente externo
con aquello que, siendo bueno,
me dice que Tú no puedes darme la luz que necesito;
con aquello que, siendo luminoso,
no llega a clarificar mi conciencia ni mi destino.
¿Me ayudarás, Señor, a ver como Tú y contigo?
Que contemple las maravillas del mundo
pero que lo haga con ojos agradecidos hacia el cielo.
En cuántos momentos, Señor,
llego a pensar que todo lo que me rodea o siento
es obra exclusiva de la invención del hombre.
¿Me ayudarás, Señor, a superar la ceguera espiritual?
¿Me curarás cuando mis ojos ya no lloren por los demás?
¿Limpiarás mis miradas cuando sean egoístas y vacías?
¿Enseñarás a mis ojos el resplandor de tu rostro, Señor?

Que, en el horizonte, sepa descubrirte como lo más significativo.
Que no me falle, hoy ni nunca, el telescopio de la fe,
ese don que sabe llegar donde el ojo humano no alcanza.
Esa fe que es lente perfecta para sentirte y vivirte
y para reconocerte como lo que eres: ¡El Señor!
Ayúdame, Señor, a creer en Ti, a esperar en Ti,
sin condiciones, pruebas ni exigencias.
Ayúdame, Señor, a verte por encima de toda apariencia
más allá de aquello que, mi ceguera espiritual,
me invita a cerrarme en mi oscuridad diciéndome que no existes.
