Santísima Trinidad
La Iglesia celebra con gozo hoy una de las solemnidades más importantes de su fe: la Santísima Trinidad. Por medio del Bautismo somos iniciados en la vida cristiana y comenzamos a participar del misterio de comunión que es la Trinidad. El Padre se nos acerca para hacernos hijos suyos, el Hijo nos incorpora en su Iglesia y el Espíritu fortalece nuestras vidas. Hoy reconocemos que el amor de Dios se manifiesta como Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo.
Podemos ver en el evangelio una nueva promesa que realiza Jesús a sus discípulos del envío del Espíritu de la verdad; por medio de Él entenderían más tarde la plenitud de sus palabras y el significado completo de su vida. Sólo el Espíritu puede guiarnos hasta la verdad plena, por eso no podemos dejar un instante de invocar su presencia viva dentro de nosotros y pedirle que renueve nuestros corazones para entender no sólo de palabra, sino en nuestra propia vida, lo que el Hijo ha realizado en medio de la humanidad.
Jesús revela a sus discípulos lo que ha conocido del Padre y el Espíritu les comunicará esa misma verdad. Este evangelio nos habla de unidad, de misterio de comunión; un solo Dios en tres Personas distintas. Una verdad de fe, tan acostumbrados a creer, que nos pasa desapercibida. Ciertamente es un misterio, pero no porque no lleguemos a comprenderlo totalmente, sino porque nos afecta al mismo ser cristiano.
Hubo un filósofo que distinguió entre problema y misterio; problema sería algo que debemos resolver con nuestras fuerzas. Misterio sería una realidad que apunta al ser mismo del hombre, porque el hombre mismo también es misterio. Gracias al Espíritu hemos conocido esta verdad: Que el Padre nos amó tanto que envió a su Hijo y no nos quedó desamparados, sino que su Espíritu habita en la Iglesia.
Comunidad de amor que se derrama y se extiende a los hombres por pura generosidad y gracia. Quizá un misterio, pero no un problema sin resolver. Aquí radica la novedad del cristianismo y la verdad que muchos no han llegado a experimentar y comprender: que Dios, en su infinita misericordia se ha mostrado a la humanidad para que amándole, volvamos íntegramente a Él.
