Gritar más en este caso no parece que sea un signo de mala educación o de un carácter excesivamente primario, sino una manifestación de fe profunda de quien, rodeado de esperanza y caridad, desea alcanzar las promesas que Dios nos ha hecho. Promesas que, dada la experiencia de limitación, son inalcanzables por las propias fuerzas, que son tan solo un ardiente anhelo. Promesas que están como todo ser humano en las manos de Dios Padre.
Tengo para mí que los católicos de nuestro tiempo son muy poco gritones o, en todo caso, equivocan el destinatario de sus gritos. El único que puede devolver la vista al ciego Bartimeo es el Hijo de Dios encarnado. Bartimeo no ve los objetos pero tiene perfectamente presente quien puede dar luz a su vida: no se dirige a los fariseos, no se dirige a los sacerdotes del templo, no se dirige a los escribas, no se dirige ni a judíos ni a romanos. Bartimeo grita a Jesucristo y a nadie más. Ni siquiera grita a los que le regañan para que calle.
Mi oración, tú oración. ¿A quién va dirigida? ¿A la nada? ¿A tu interioridad? ¿A imágenes de madera o escayola? ¿A las autoridades civiles, militares o eclesiásticas? Nuestra oración sólo se entiende como relación familiar en la Trinidad: un cristiano –todos los cristianos– ora en el Espíritu (el Espíritu clama en él), por Cristo, al Padre. Además de dirigirse únicamente a quien puede darnos luz, ha de ser un grito incesante, cada vez más fuerte, con más volumen y, sobre todo, más frecuente y más confiado. No hay más. Las distorsiones que obran en tu oración el mundo, el demonio y la carne solo lograrás evitarlas por la penitencia y la mortificación.
María, en este último domingo de octubre, te pedimos que nos acompañes en la oración. Tú con el Espíritu Santo sois quienes nos podéis enseñar.
