“¿TAMBIÉN VOSOTROS QUERÉIS MARCHAROS?”
Hoy, como hace más de dos mil años, las palabras del Señor son claras y exigentes. Hoy, como antes, el Señor pide de nosotros verdadera radicalidad y compromiso. Hoy, como hace más de dos mil años, el mismo Señor Jesús nos interpela por nuestra opción.
No existe diferencia entre la generosidad y la opción de los primeros cristianos y la nuestra. No existe diferencia entre la urgencia de su misión y la que nos toca vivir hoy. En nuestros días también vemos con tristeza cómo muchos discípulos abandonan y se vuelven atrás escandalizados por la radicalidad que implica el seguimiento auténtico del Señor. Otros, probablemente, no se marchan externamente, pero viven como si ya no estuviesen con Cristo; han optado por otras alternativas silenciosamente en su corazón y, en el fondo, han optado por la tibieza y por la mediocridad.
¿También tú quieres marcharte? ¿También tú crees que otro tiene palabras de vida eterna? ¿También tú crees que haya otro que te pueda dar lo que yo te doy? ¿Cuál será tu respuesta al Señor? ¿Será como la respuesta de Pedro, humilde y auténtica, propia de quien tiene la certeza de sus opciones, o será como la del joven rico, quien al evidenciar lo que implica el seguimiento del Señor se marcha atrás, afligido y desolado, porque “tenía muchos bienes”?
