HOMILÍA
Al comienzo de la celebración hemos tenido en nuestras manos una vela encendida y la hemos bendecido. Cuando todo termine, la llevaremos a nuestra casa y la podremos encender en tantos momentos: cuando estemos enfermos o cuando el hijo tenga un examen, cuando exista una petición en el corazón, cuando una pena o una tristeza se apoderen de nosotros, cuando tengamos necesidad de la presencia caliente del Señor. Y todo ello porque esa vela nos recuerda a Jesús, nos recuerda que Él es luz y que nosotros andamos muchas veces en tinieblas. Hagámoslo así. Nuestra vida es, muchas veces, como dice la Salve, un valle de lágrimas y necesitamos que el Señor se haga presente en nuestro dolor, en nuestra falta de esperanza.
Hoy celebramos la Presentación de Jesús en el templo y la purificación de nuestra Señora. Recordamos un hecho normal y cotidiano de la época de Jesús. El primogénito, así lo decía la ley, debía ser consagrado al Señor a los cuarenta días de su nacimiento y la madre debía someterse a una serie de ritos antes de emprender la vida normal. Como parte de esa doble celebración, se hacía una ofrenda para que, ese niño consagrado al Señor, pudiera volver con sus padres. Lo hemos escuchado en el relato del evangelio. También allí se nos ha hablado de dos personajes que, aquel día, se encontraron con Jesús: el anciano Simeón y la profetisa Ana.
Los dos van a reconocer a Jesús, lo van a presentar como luz para alumbrar a las naciones. Para los dos va a ser un encuentro salvador que les va a permitir decir que ya pueden morir en paz porque han llegado a tener en sus brazos al mismo Salvador. El anciano Simeón, dirá también, sin embargo, unas enigmáticas palabras que encogerán el corazón de María y que se cumplirán un día cuando lleguen las horas de la pasión y de la muerte en la cruz de Jesús. “Y a ti, una espada te atravesará el alma” ¡Cuánta verdad encerraban estas palabras cuando llegó la primera semana santa de la historia! Jesús fue una bandera discutida y lo sigue siendo hoy.
Nosotros estamos con Él. Nuestra vida y nuestra persona ha de ser un reflejo de lo que fue. Ya sabemos que, para otros, Jesús es alguien que molesta, que hay que quitar, hoy como entonces, de en medio. Lo importante es que recordemos aquellas palabras que Jesús pronunció en cierta ocasión: “Si a mí me han perseguido, también a vosotros os perseguirán. Si han guardado mi palabra, también guardarán la vuestra.” No tengamos miedo. Ser discípulos de Jesús no ha sido nunca fácil, ni entonces ni hoy, pero sabemos que no estamos solos, que Él nos acompaña siempre, sobre todo en los momentos de dolor. Y si no somos fieles en la dificultad ¿para cuándo lo dejamos?
