HOMILÍA
El pasado miércoles, todos fuimos llamados a recibir la ceniza sobre nuestras cabezas, como un signo visible del comienzo del tiempo cuaresmal. Hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del primer domingo de cuaresma. Dejémonos interpelar por ellas, por ese mensaje de conversión que encierran. Y pidamos la ayuda de Dios porque no es fácil cambiar. El egoísmo nos puede. El “yo” ocupa frecuentemente el primer lugar y siempre encontramos excusas para pasar al “tú” y al “nosotros” y al “vosotros”. La cuaresma es un tiempo de esfuerzo por nuestra parte pero también de estar dispuestos a recibir de Dios su perdón y su gracia. Juntos, Él y nosotros, haremos el pequeño milagro de esa conversión que tanto necesitamos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Génesis y nos ha recordado a Noé y a sus hijos que fueron salvados de las aguas por obra y gracia del mismo Dios. Y cómo, una vez pasado el diluvio, tuvo lugar un pacto de amistad entre ese Dios y la familia de Noé. Y hubo también, hemos escuchado, un signo visible de ese pacto: el arco iris, lleno de colores, que viene después de la tormenta. Si hemos escuchado este texto de la antigüedad es porque también nosotros fuimos salvados por las aguas del bautismo. El Señor hizo con nosotros algo más que un pacto de amistad. Nos hizo sus hijos. Y hay muchos signos visibles que nos recuerdan esta realidad: el sol que sale cada día y el amor que se derrama sobre nosotros por parte de esas personas que Dios ha puesto a nuestro lado. El Padre Dios nos espera, cada día, para llenarnos de su amor. Busquemos ese encuentro gozoso.
La segunda lectura la hemos tomado de la carta del apóstol San Pedro. Ha hecho referencia también a Noé y al bautismo que todos, un día, recibimos. Cierto que, éramos tan pequeños, que no guardamos memoria de él, pero hoy podemos aceptarlo, renovar las promesas que, en nuestro nombre, hicieron padres, padrinos y la comunidad parroquial que estuvo presente. Muchas veces, a lo largo del año, lo venimos haciendo. En este tiempo cuaresmal, revivamos el hecho de saber que fuimos bautizados, que somos cristianos, miembros de la Iglesia, discípulos de aquel que no vino a ser servido sino a servir.
El relato breve del evangelio de Marcos nos ha recordado un hecho importante: Jesús, tras haber recibido el bautismo de manos de Juan y, antes de lanzarse a la aventura de su vida pública, se retira al desierto. Allí encontrará tiempo y lugar para la oración, para la reflexión. Allí será tentado para que use su poder en beneficio propio. Jesús vencerá la tentación y comenzará su predicación hablando precisamente de la conversión y de la Buena Noticia que nos trae. “No nos dejes caer en la tentación” es lo que pedimos en el Padre Nuestro.
