La misión de Jesús de predicar el Reino de Dios ha comenzado en Galilea. Hoy se cumple esta escritura que acabáis de oír: El Espíritu del Señor está sobre mí y me ha enviado a anunciar la buena noticia a los más pobres. Estas palabras que ya anticipaba el profeta Isaías se cumplen en la persona de Jesús, y así lo corrobora él mismo delante de todos los que le escuchaban en la sinagoga.
Tal y como era costumbre los sábados en las sinagogas judías, los hombres se reunían para hacer lecturas y comentarios del libro sagrado. En aquella ocasión Jesús había tomado la palabra y fue el texto del profeta Isaías el que tocaba comentar. Pero hubo algo que llamó la atención de los que allí estaban: Jesús se reflejaba en el Mesías que anunciaba el profeta. Había llegado la hora y se había cumplido el plazo: ya estaba entre ellos el Reino de Dios; había llegado el momento de reconocer al Mesías en medio de los hombres. Allí estaba, se presentaba públicamente.
El centro de la escena estaba en la proclamación del cumplimiento de un texto de Isaías; tal y como observábamos en el texto del domingo anterior, en dicho texto se anunciaba cómo sería el Mesías y cómo su salvación alcanzaría a todos los hombres, aunque de manera especial a los más pobres y necesitados.
Pero, a modo de preludio de lo que sería el futuro de la vida de Jesús, los demás parecen incrédulos ante sus palabras; conocían a su padre José; ¿cómo iba a ser Él el Mesías? Resultaba difícil de admitir y reconocerlo como el salvador de la humanidad. Jesús recuerda, de modo anecdótico cómo otros profetas fueron rechazados por su propio pueblo y ni siquiera pudieron hacer signos; es más, tuvieron que marcharse a otros pueblos para realizarlos.
Esto enojó aún más a los que le escuchaban y ya desde entonces planeaban su muerte al intentar despeñarlo por el monte. Sus paisanos sólo vieron en Él un aspecto de su vida, el ser hijo de José, no fueron capaces de descubrirlo como el profeta y mesías anunciado por Isaías.
También estas palabras hoy resuenan en nuestros corazones y se vuelven actuales al herir nuestro cristianismo acomodado; Él vino a anunciar la paz y aún seguimos empeñados en dividir nuestro mundo; Él vino a instaurar la justicia y nuestras sociedades permanecen divididas en ricos y pobres; Él vino a enseñarnos el amor y el rencor puede a nuestra necesidad de perdonar.
¿No tendrá que irse esta Buena Noticia a otros lugares donde sea mejor aceptado como ese mensaje de salvación? Ojalá no desaprovechemos la oportunidad que hemos tenido de escuchar la palabra de Jesús, aunque en ello nos vaya hasta nuestra propia vida
