Jornada de Responsabilidad en el Tráfico
Fiesta de san Cristóbal, patrono de los conductores
«Jesús se acercó y se puso a caminar con ellos»
Queridos hermanos y amigos:
Como en años anteriores, en torno a la fiesta de San Cristóbal y al inicio de las vacaciones de verano, desde la Comisión Episcopal de Migraciones de la Conferencia Episcopal, dentro de la tarea del Departamento de la Pastoral de la Carretera, os hacemos llegar nuestro saludo afectuoso a todos aquellos cuya vida y actividad están relacionadas con la carretera. Nos dirigimos a los camioneros, taxistas, conductores de autobuses, de autocares, de ambulancias, bomberos, guardia civil, policía de tráfico, cofradías de san Cristóbal, asociaciones de transportistas. Nos dirigimos también a las personas que pasáis cada día buena parte de vuestro tiempo al volante, así como a todas las personas que, para ir al trabajo, tenéis que desplazaros: que la paz y la bendición del Señor estén siempre con vosotros.
«Vemos con alegría, decían ya los obispos españoles ya en el 1968, como también a nivel diocesano se va organizando este apostolado de la carretera y cómo son muchos los sacerdotes y seglares que comparten con nosotros la preocupación y el esfuerzo para poner a Cristo en todos los caminos de los hombres»
«Jesús se acercó y se puso a caminar con ellos» es el lema que hemos elegido para la Jornada de Responsabilidad en el Tráfico de este año 2014, y que lleva por subtítulo una bella frase de san Juan de Ávila: «Trátalo bien, que es Hijo de buena Madre».
El lema lo hemos tomado del evangelio de san Lucas y hace referencia al camino que hizo Jesús con dos de sus discípulos en la tarde misma del primer día de Pascua. «Mientras conversaban y discutían, Jesús en persona se acercó y se puso a caminar con ellos» (Lc 24, 15). Ellos comentaban la Pasión y Muerte del Señor; pero ya no esperaban su Resurrección y se alejaban de Jerusalén. Jesús, por el camino, les explica las Escrituras. Al llegar a la posada, los discípulos le invitan a quedarse con ellos. Jesús accede y, sentados a la mesa para cenar, toma el pan, lo bendice y se lo da. Los dos discípulos que, ya por el camino habían sentido el ardor de la palabra de Jesús, lo reconocieron, al partir el pan, creyeron que había resucitado y vivía y volvieron aprisa a Jerusalén a comunicar a los demás discípulos esta gozosa experiencia (cf. Lc 24, 13-35).
