Deseo de escuchar palabras de vida; eso fue lo que movía a tanta gente a ir junto al Maestro para escuchar sus palabras; tanta gente a su alrededor que tenía que apartarse para que le pudieran oír y no le apretujaran. Un deseo ardiente de escuchar una palabra de Verdad que diera un sentido a sus vidas, que fuera capaz de conmover sus corazones… Un deseo de comprobar con sus propias miradas si Él era el Mesías que tanto estaban esperando.
Como en tantas ocasiones anteriores Jesús usa de las parábolas para dirigirse a la multitud; y la de hoy es una de esas que todos podían entender. Un sembrador, una semilla, una tierra donde nacer…
Quizá toda aquella gente buscaba una respuesta religiosa a sus vidas, un motivo para seguir esperando al Ungido… Tal vez les movía la curiosidad para acercarse a ese predicador; o quizá era la fama de curandero y sanador que le precedía lo que reunió a tanta gente a la orilla del lago.
Pero muchos de aquéllos escuchaban sin oír ni entender; y es que faltaba y nos hace falta un corazón abierto, una disposición nueva para entender el mensaje de Jesús. Duros de corazón y ciegos de alma, así permanecía mucha de aquella gente; como una tierra pedregosa, que recibe la Palabra, pero imposible de crecer por la falta de profundidad.
Sin duda, esta disposición personal a acoger la palabra de Dios, su semilla de vida, con corazón abierto, con profundidad, quitando obstáculos, es muy importante. Pero no olvidemos que hay un paso previo, también decisivo según las palabras de Jesús: el querer y saber escuchar la palabra que Dios nos dirige.
Dichosos los que hemos tenido la posibilidad de acoger en profundidad este mensaje de Jesús; dichosos, pero también irresponsables, porque seguimos siendo duros de oído para entender a Jesús.
Tal vez podamos situarnos nosotros en aquella multitud que veía sin entender lo que realmente estaba queriendo decir Jesús; porque a pesar de todo lo que hemos experimentado seguimos sin convertir nuestra vida, seguimos sin ser tierra fecunda donde crezca el Reino de Dios.
Tal vez seamos esos discípulos privilegiados a los que se les explicó más claramente la parábola; ¡ojalá fuera así! Pero ¡menuda responsabilidad! Porque si hemos entendido en profundidad esa Buena Noticia y se ha grabado en nuestros corazones, ahora nos toca ser tierra buena y fecunda, propicia para que siga creciendo la paz, la justicia y el amor.
