HOMILÍA
Este año, la Solemnidad de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora, cae en domingo y la celebramos con una fiesta que nos recuerda el poder de Dios que quiso elevarla en cuerpo y alma a los cielos. Unida a esta solemnidad, la Diócesis de Jaca hace una llamada apremiante a sus diocesanos para que no olvidemos que muchos de nuestros templos, algunos de ellos dedicados precisamente a la Virgen, necesitan ser restaurados. Y para ello, se precisa la ayuda de todos nosotros. Hoy hacemos una Colecta “Pro Reconstrucción de Templos Parroquiales.”
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Apocalipsis. En él aparece la figura misteriosa de una mujer “vestida del sol y la luna bajo sus pies y una corona de doce estrellas sobre su cabeza”. Nos recuerda, sin duda, a Santa María, nuestra Madre. ¡Cuántas imágenes que hay en nuestras iglesias la representan exactamente así! Lo importante es que, de vez en cuando, alcemos nuestra mirada hacia esas imágenes e imploremos la ayuda y la protección de la Virgen.
La segunda lectura, de la carta a los Corintios, nos ha hablado de la resurrección de Cristo que es primicia de la que nos espera a todos y a cada uno de nosotros. “El último enemigo en ser destruido será la muerte” hemos escuchado. Pero, hoy por hoy, la muerte es una realidad presente entre nosotros. Acompañemos a todos aquellos que se enfrentan a esa realidad y recemos por los que fallecen.
El relato del evangelio de Lucas nos ha presentado a María que, tras recorrer un largo camino, se encuentra con su prima Isabel. Las dos mujeres son conscientes del misterio que las rodea. Las dos esperan el nacimiento de un niño. María siente que Dios se ha fijado, de una forma especial, en ella y entona un himno de gratitud. Recémoslo nosotros también. Es la oración que nos viene de la mano y del corazón de María.
