HOMILÍA
Hoy es la fiesta del Corpus Christi, de la Eucaristía, del Jesús presente en el Sagrario y en esa Custodia que recorre las calles y las plazas de muchos de nuestros pueblos. Es el día de los niños y niñas que este año han hecho su Primera Comunión y que, vestidos de nuevo con sus mejores galas, acompañan al Jesús Eucaristía, rodeados de toda la comunidad cristiana. ¡Ojalá que este día deje en todos ellos una huella imborrable y, aunque el paso de los años les pudiera alejar de la práctica religiosa, pidamos queel Jesús a quien hoy escoltan nunca les abandone!
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Deuteronomio. Nos ha contado la historia de un pueblo que ha caminado durante años por el desierto. Un pueblo que ha pasado hambre y sed pero un pueblo que ha sido alimentado por un Dios que no le dejó solos en su trayectoria en busca de la tierra prometida. Hoy, el Señor nos da a nosotros, caminantes por el sendero de la vida, el pan y el vino de la Eucaristía que nos fortalecerá ante las dificultades.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Corintios, nos ha hablado del cuerpo y de la sangre de Cristo; de ese pan que, siendo uno, es partido y compartido para alimentarnos a todos. Comulgar del mismo pan hace que formemos un solo cuerpo, una sola familia, una sola comunidad. Pidamos al Señor que esa comunión que recibimos nos lleve a vivir fraternalmente unidos, hermanos, hijos del Padre de los cielos.
El relato del evangelio de Juan forma parte de un extenso discurso que Jesús pronunció después de haber tenido lugar la multiplicación de los panes y de los peces. En él les habló de la necesidad de comer su cuerpo y de beber su sangre para tener vida. Los que les escucharon, no le llegaron a entender. Nosotros sabemos que hablaba de la Eucaristía. Acerquémonos a recibirle con frecuencia. Él es el pan de nuestra vida.
