HOMILÍA
Las lecturas de este domingo son las propias de la Solemnidad de Cristo Rey, con la que termina el año litúrgico. El próximo domingo comenzaremos un nuevo ciclo y un nuevo tiempo litúrgico: el del Adviento, en el que seremos llamados a avivar la espera y la esperanza. Y lo haremos de la mano del evangelista San Lucas que nos ofrecerá su peculiar visión de la persona, de las palabras y de las obras de Jesús de Nazaret. Pero, antes de que eso suceda, hoy queremos reconocer a Jesús como un Rey especial que nos invita a colaborar en la construcción de un reino de paz, de justicia, de amor, de fraternidad.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado de la profecía de Daniel. Nos ha hablado de una especie de Hijo de Hombre que viene ente las nubes del cielo y al que se le da para siempre “poder, honor y reino.” ¿Cómo no reconocer en esa figura misteriosa a Jesús? No pensemos en él como un rey al estilo humano. El reino de Jesús tiene que ver con todas las cosas buenas y hermosas que los seres humanos podemos hacer por el bien de los demás, con todas las virtudes que nos hacen gratos a los ojos de Dios.
La segunda lectura, del libro del Apocalipsis, también nos habla de Jesucristo como del príncipe de los reyes de la tierra. Un rey que nos ama, que ha dado su vida por todos y cada uno de nosotros. Los cristianos estamos llamados a seguir sus pasos, poniendo nuestra vida al servicio de los demás, conscientes de que servir es reinar.
El relato del Evangelio de Juan nos ha presentado la escena en la que se establece un diálogo entre Pilato, el gobernador romano, y el propio Jesús. Allí se establece, con toda claridad, que el reino de Jesús no tiene nada que ver con los reinos de este mundo. Que él ha venido para ser testigo de la verdad. Y que, aquellos que aman y buscan la verdad, están buscando y amando al mismo Jesús. Escuchemos su voz.
