HOMILÍA
Durante cincuenta días hemos venido celebrando el tiempo pascual, hemos hecho memoria de Jesús Resucitado. El pasado domingo recordamos su Ascensión a los cielos y, antes de reanudar de nuevo el tiempo ordinario, estamos llamados a celebrar algunas fiestas importantes del calendario cristiano: Pentecostés, domingo de la Santísima Trinidad y el Corpus Christi. La primera de ellas nos habla de la venida del Espíritu Santo sobre los Apóstoles, reunidos con María. Una venida que les transformará, que les recordará los que Jesús les había dicho, que les dará valor y fortaleza para afrontar las dificultades propias del anuncio del evangelio en el mundo pagano de entonces.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles y nos ha contado cómo fue aquella primera venida del Espíritu Santo. Dos signos visibles y sensibles se hicieron presentes. Uno habla de un viento fuerte, recio y otro de unas lenguas como llamaradas que se repartían, posándose encima de cada uno. Lo importante es que, aquellos hombres, se sintieron impulsados a salir de aquella estancia, en la que estaban, para anunciar a una gran multitud de gente, venida de todas partes, el mensaje del evangelio. El entusiasmo que mostraron fue tan grande que todos parecían entenderles, aunque hablaran otras lenguas o vinieran de países lejanos.
Nosotros también hemos recibido el Espíritu Santo. Sobre todo, en el sacramento de la Confirmación. También en nuestro caso hubo dos signos visibles. Uno, la imposición de las manos, mientras el Obispo pedía que el Espíritu santo bajara sobre nosotros. El otro, la señal de la cruz hecha en nuestra frente con el aceite consagrado que conocemos como el Santo Crisma. Tomemos conciencia de este hecho; sabemos que tenemos dentro de nosotros la fuerza del Espíritu Santo que nos capacita para ser testigos de Jesús, para proclamarlo con alegría y entusiasmo. ¿Por qué no lo hacemos así? ¿Por qué escondemos la fe? ¿Por qué nos da vergüenza mostrarnos como cristianos? ¿Por qué no nos sentimos orgullosos de nuestra pertenencia a la comunidad cristiana, a la Iglesia?
Reavivemos el don del Espíritu que un día recibimos y, como nos decía la segunda lectura, hagamos fructificar los dones, servicios, funciones que ese espíritu puso en nuestros corazones. Todos tenemos muchas cosas buenas que pueden servir a los demás, como ciudadanos y como cristianos, como miembros de la sociedad y como miembros de la comunidad eclesial. Recemos con frecuencia al Espíritu Santo. Pidámosle todo aquello que Él nos puede dar: valor, fortaleza, ánimo, deseos de cambio, entusiasmo a la hora de hablar de Jesús, de darle a conocer.
