HOMILÍA
Sin la solemnidad propia de otros años, sin la presencia alegre y bulliciosa de niños y niñas con sus trajes de comunión, sin el recorrido por la calles de nuestro barrio llevando en procesión al Santísimo debido a la pandemia que estamos sufriendo, nos hemos reunido, sin embargo, en esta iglesia para honrar al Jesús presente en la Eucaristía, en el Sagrario de nuestras parroquias, en la comunión que recibimos. A este Jesús, presente entre nosotros, queremos encomendar, una vez más, a los enfermos que están luchando contra esta enfermedad que nos aqueja, a los difuntos que han partido camino de la casa del Padre, a las familias que están mirando con angustia el futuro.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Deuteronomio. Ha recogido unas palabras de Moisés en las que recuerda a su pueblo que el Dios de sus padres, que les acompañó en tantos momentos duros y difíciles, les consoló en tantos otros con el maná, con esa especie de pan que les dio fuerzas para seguir caminando. Les hace una llamada al recuerdo agradecido a ese Dios que está a su lado y que nunca les abandonará. Hoy nosotros necesitamos comer ese alimento que es la Eucaristía, que es Jesús mismo, para afrontar las dificultades de la vida, para seguir caminando cuando lo más fácil sería abandonar. Acerquémonos a la eucaristía. Recibamos a Jesús en la comunión.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pablo a los cristianos de la ciudad griega de Corinto. Les habla, sobre todo, de un pan compartido. “Todos comemos del mismo pan.” Y eso hace posible que seamos un solo pueblo, una sola familia llena de hermanos que se ayudan, que se quieren, que comparten lo que son y lo que tienen. Cáritas nos recuerda, en este día, que estamos llamados a dar y a darnos, a compartir, a ser solidarios, a no pasar indiferentes al que necesita nuestra ayuda.
El relato del evangelio de Juan nos ha recordado el discurso que Jesús pronunció después de realizar el milagro de la multiplicación de los panes y de los peces. Hablaba de comer su cuerpo y de beber su sangre. Se refería a la eucaristía. Venzamos la pereza, preparemos nuestro corazón, pidamos perdón, recibamos con frecuencia a Jesús en la comunión. Él es el alimento que necesitamos. Y, siempre que podamos, visitemos a Jesús presente en el Sagrario. Dediquemos tiempo a estar con él, a hablarle, a sentir el gozo de estar juntos.
