HOMILÍA
El Jesús que asciende al cielo, el Jesús que desaparece de la vista de los suyos, no les deja solos y abandonados a su suerte. Antes de que eso suceda, en varias ocasiones les promete el envío del Espíritu Santo que les recordará lo que él les ha dicho, que les fortalecerá, que les animará, que pondrá una luz en sus mentes y en sus corazones para que sepan el camino que deben seguir. Ese Espíritu Santo será el alma de la Iglesia naciente. Sin él, nada de lo que ha sido, hubiera sido posible.
Un Patriarca oriental decía a este respecto: “Sin el Espíritu Santo, Dios está lejos, Cristo se queda en el pasado, el Evangelio en letra muerta, la Iglesia no pasa de ser una simple organización, la autoridad se convierte en dominio, la misión en propaganda, el culto en evocación, y el quehacer de los cristianos en una moral de esclavos.
Pero, con el Espíritu, Dios vive en cada corazón. Cristo, nos abre al futuro; el Evangelio potencia la nueva vida, la Iglesia expresa la comunión trinitaria, la autoridad es un servicio liberador; la misión, un Pentecostés prolongado; la liturgia, memorial y anticipación; el quehacer de los cristianos, un ejercicio de libertad y liberación.”
Seamos conscientes de la existencia, de la presencia, del Espíritu Santo en la vida de cada cristiano y en la vida de la Iglesia. Recémosle, invoquémosle, en toda ocasión: en las alegrías y en las tristezas, en los momentos de gozo y, en aquellos otros, en los que nos podamos sentir hundidos, débiles, frágiles y limitados.
Hagamos nuestras las palabras de la llamada “Secuencia de Pentecostés”: “Ven, dulce huésped del alma, descanso de nuestro esfuerzo, tregua en el duro trabajo, brisa en las horas de fuego, gozo que enjuga las lágrimas y reconforta en los duelos. Entra hasta el fondo del alma, divina luz, y enriquécenos.” Que el Espíritu nos bendiga y aliente.
