SOLEMNIDAD DE PENTECOSTÉS
(Jn 20,19-23.) Encerrados, por miedo a los judíos, los apóstoles aún no han comprendido plenamente el mensaje de Jesús; con las puertas cerradas por temor a que los jefes políticos y religiosos hicieran con ellos lo que habían hecho con el Maestro.
Pero entra Jesús, y todo cambia; su presencia les llena de alegría; las muñecas marcadas por las llagas y su costado marcado por la lanzada no daban lugar a dudas: era Él, el Maestro; ¡y era verdad que había resucitado! Y ahora estaba en medio de ellos, tal y como les había prometido
La paz, ese gran don mesiánico, es el saludo que utiliza Jesús para los que habían compartido con Él los últimos años de su vida; una paz que cambia el corazón de aquellos temerosos discípulos y una alegría que se notaba incluso en los ojos incrédulos que le contemplaban. Paz a vosotros, repite el Mesías.
Y ahora cumple la promesa que les había dicho: no os dejaré solos; os enviaré mi Espíritu; y así se cumple; reciben la Fuerza necesaria para ser sus testigos, la gracia del Espíritu que vivifica y santifica esa pequeña comunidad de creyentes.
La nueva vida del Espíritu les hace cambiar; el Espíritu enciende en el corazón de aquellos creyentes la llama del amor que procede de Dios y llena de inquietud su alma; llena de inquietud porque llama a la evangelización, a comunicar ese mensaje salvador de que Jesús había resucitado.
En su nombre y con la nueva Fuerza perdonarán y retendrán pecados, hablarán con autoridad y muchos signos los acompañarán. No hablan en nombre propio, ni predican su propio mensaje; no son dueños de lo que han escuchado, vivido u oído, sino que son mensajeros, ángeles, testigos y apóstoles, enviados por el mismo Jesús. Es la fiesta de Pentecostés, la gran fiesta de luz y alegría que los Apóstoles recordarán cuando prediquen.
El Espíritu guía y santifica su Iglesia, su asamblea, su Comunidad; a partir de estos momentos pueden comprender el mensaje del Maestro, entienden y se abren sus ojos y su corazón, pueden contemplar al mismo Jesús resucitado.
Algo ha cambiado en el corazón de aquellos pescadores: la alegría que ha brotado en sus rostros y la paz que ha infundido Jesús en sus corazones será el signo distintivo de los enviados de Jesús.
