HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del segundo domingo de cuaresma. Este tiempo que iniciamos el llamado “Miercoles de Ceniza” y del que ya hemos celebrado el primer domingo en el que vimos cómo nuestros primeros padres y cómo el mismo Jesús sintieron el zarpazo de la tentación. De cómo aquellos cayeron en el pecado y de cómo Jesús salió triunfante. Hoy damos un paso más. Seguimos mirando al mismo Jesús, escuchando sus palabras, viendo sus gestos y nos preguntamos qué es lo que nos está queriendo decir, qué caminos nuevos quiere que emprendamos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Génesis y nos ha relatado la historia de la vocación de Abrahán, el iniciador, el fundador del pueblo de Israel. Es invitado a salir de su tierra, de su vida conocida y cómoda para dirigirse a un destino incierto. Abrahán se fía de ese Dios que le ha salido al encuentro, lo deja todo y se pone en camino. Eso sí, oye también palabras de bendición, de compañía, de protección. Sabe que no va a estar solo pero que va a tener que luchar y esforzarse por salir adelante. También hoy el Señor nos invita a nosotros a salir de nuestra tierra o, lo que es lo mismo, de nuestra situación de pecado o de mal y marchar a una tierra nueva. Algo que nos va a suponer esfuerzo y lucha pero que comportará toda clase de bendiciones, la seguridad de la presencia cercana de Dios y la llegada a una nueva tierra en la que el amor habrá vencido al egoísmo.
En la segunda lectura, tomada de la carta que San Pablo escribió a su amigo y discípulo Timoteo. En ella le insiste en dos ideas fundamentales: la primera, que tome parte en el anuncio del evangelio según las fuerzas que Dios le dé. Y, la otra, que, tanto él como su comunidad, están llamados a una vida santa. También nosotros estamos llamados a lo mismo. En la medida de nuestras fuerzas y de nuestras posibilidades anunciemos el evangelio con nuestras palabras y nuestras obras. Y no olvidemos nunca que Dios nos quiere santos y que para alcanzar esa santidad contamos con la ayuda y la gracia del mismo Dios.
El relato del evangelio nos ha recordado el episodio de la transfiguración. Parece que tuvo lugar muy poco tiempo antes de que Jesús sufriera pasión y muriera en la cruz y la intención de Jesús era fortalecer la fe de los apóstoles para que esos hechos no hicieran tambalear su fe. Es bueno que, en los momentos duros y difíciles por los que todos pasamos alguna vez, pidamos sentir la ayuda, la presencia, la cercanía de ese Dios amor que nos permita seguir luchando, seguir trabajando, seguir amando. ¡Ojalá que, en estos días de la cuaresma, en los que nos esforzamos por ser mejores, por cambiar de vida, de actitudes y de comportamientos, sintamos el cálido abrazo del Padre Dios!
