Jesucristo, Rey del Universo
El informe de Unicef dice que España es de los países ricos que tienen más niños pobres, casi un tercio, que viven bajo el umbral de la pobreza. Son sobre todo niños hijos de emigrantes o cuyos padres están separados. La factura les llegará a estos niños en el futuro, un futuro bloqueado e injusto. Desgraciadamente con la corrupción generalizada se tiene la impresión de que la justicia no funciona. Es verdad que hay que presumir siempre la inocencia, pero da la impresión de que eso sólo vale a favor de unos privilegiados. El sentimiento de la justicia denuncia el que no se haga justicia a todos.
En los tiempos bíblicos, era el rey el encargado de hacer justicia. Se le representa muchas veces bajo la figura del pastor que trata con equidad a sus ovejas, según las necesidades de cada una (Ez 34,11–17). Tratar a todos por igual era para los antiguos la mayor injusticia. Hoy día creemos que esas consideraciones de las situaciones particulares no tienen nada que ver con la justicia, todo lo más los cristianos las consideran objeto de la caridad cristiana. Y, efectivamente, como dice el Papa Benedicto XVI, sólo con la caridad cristiana se puede crear un mundo justo.
El deseo de justicia se expresa en la idea del juicio final. Existe la gran convicción de que, ya que no es posible la justicia perfecta en el mundo, al menos Dios debe hacer justicia a todos los que han sido víctimas de la injusticia. Por eso el examen final al que nos someterá Jesús tiene que ver con la realización de la justicia en este mundo (Mt 25,31–46). En realidad es un examen sobre las obras de misericordia, porque sólo la misericordia y la compasión son capaces de hacer justicia al hombre sufriente y doliente. Las obras de misericordia tienen que ver con las personas a las que el mundo no hace justicia: los hambrientos, los emigrantes, los desposeídos, los encarcelados.
El juicio de Jesús es coherente con su vida y su anuncio del Reino de Dios. El Reino viene sobre toda para esas categorías de excluidos de la sociedad. Son ellos los primeros destinatarios del Reino. Tan sólo los que son capaces de descubrir a Jesús y su Reino en los hambrientos, los emigrantes, los desposeídos y los encarcelados desean de verdad entrar en el Reino de Dios.
Curiosamente ni los que tuvieron en cuenta a esas categorías de excluidos ni los que no les prestaron atención se dieron cuenta de que allí estaba Jesús. Pero lo grave es que no descubrieron que allí se estaban jugando el Reino, en este mundo y en el otro. Desgraciadamente las ilusiones sobre lo que es el Reino de Dios siguen dominando el corazón de los hombres. Algunos siguen identificando el Reino con los poderes de este mundo. No tiene nada de particular el que no lo descubran en los que no cuentan a los ojos del mundo. Pero el Señor Resucitado, que ahora contemplamos como juez del mundo, es Jesús que vivió como las categorías de personas que él describe en la parábola. Que la celebración de la eucaristía nos ayude a descubrir a Jesús en los pobres y marginados para que un día tengamos parte con ellos en el Reino del Padre.
