PRIMER DOMINGO DE CUARESMA
Una iglesia en salida, pero no hacia los barrios de las ciudades ni hacia los pupitres, las bibliotecas y las plazas. En este tiempo de Cuaresma, la iglesia sale hacia el desierto y durante cuarenta largos días permanece en él. Ya llegará la hora de entrar en Jerusalén y, después de atravesar el Calvario, volver a Galilea. Una iglesia en salida de todo lo que significa mundanidad, corrupción y pecado. No farisea, sino humilde y arrepentida. Estamos hablando, claro está, de la iglesia–cuerpo, porque la iglesia–cabeza permanece limpia y resplandeciente, señalando y abriendo camino.
Este salir forma parte de la profesión de fe del pueblo elegido: un pueblo errante, emigrante, peregrino. Un pueblo que sale del terror de Egipto seductor y opresor... Seductor pecado y opresor pecado. Este éxodo que recoge tan bellamente la primera lectura del libro del Deuteronomio es figura y anticipo de la santa pascua del Señor muerto y resucitado y del “morir con Cristo para resucitar con él” del cristiano. Este es nuestro momento y la primera consigna del itinerario cuaresmal es que no sirve de nada salir del pecado si no es para vivir la gracia. De nada servirán la austeridad obligada del desierto ni las penitencias libres de nuestros deseos de plenitud, si no son para vivir únicamente para Dios que es nuestro pan, nuestra gloria, nuestro escudo.
Solo Dios. Esta es la quintaesencia de la Cuaresma y Jesús victorioso sobre la tentación nos lo enseña. Nuevamente se repite la pugna del diablo contra el plan de Dios y contra Dios mismo. De hecho el diablo es tremendamente aburrido: lo único que sabe hacer es no servir y, en su afán autojustificatorio, intentar que los seres humanos no sirvan, sino que se autoengañen dando cancha a su afán de autosuficiencia. Sin embargo, este aburrimiento sigue siendo seductor para cualquiera y opresor, para el adicto. Misión de la iglesia, con su Señor, será mostrar la enfermedad y aplicar el remedio.
¿El remedio? Sí, el corazón traspasado del Redentor. María, puerta de Misericordia, quiere llevarte de la mano a la realidad del amor de Dios.
