HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas correspondientes al sexto domingo de Pascua, el domingo que precede a la fiesta de la Ascensión y a la gran solemnidad de Pentecostés en la que conmemoraremos la venida del Espíritu Santo sobre los Apóstoles, reunidos con María. Todo en este día de hoy nos impulsa a mirar hacía estas dos festividades. También la Palabra de Dios que nos ha sido proclamada. El primer texto bíblico lo hemos tomado del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles y ha hecho referencia a un problema que conmovió los cimientos de la naciente Iglesia y la impulso a reunirse en el primer Concilio de su historia para darle una solución.
Como hemos escuchado, los cristianos procedentes del mundo judío exigían, a los cristianos procedentes del mundo pagano, la adopción de los ritos y de las costumbres judías. La negativa lógica de éstos últimos estaba provocando altercados y violentas discusiones “¿Por qué tenemos que adoptar las costumbres judías al hacernos cristianos? decían”. El Concilio que se reunió para solventar el asunto se pronunció clarísimamente por el hecho de que, quienes se convertían del paganismo, no tenían por qué adoptar esas costumbres judías. La Iglesia trataba así de no quedar convertida en una simple secta y de pronunciarse abiertamente por una misión universal, por construir una nueva realidad en la que, ya no importaría el origen de los recién llegados, sino su fe en Jesús resucitado.
La segunda lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Apocalipsis y ha hecho referencia a la primera lectura. La Iglesia, nos ha venido a decir, es una nueva realidad basada no en los nombres de las doce tribus de Israel sino en la de los doce apóstoles elegidos por Jesús. Ya desde los primeros momentos, los cristianos fueron conscientes de cómo su fe no estaba apoyada en la ley de Moisés sino en las persona de Jesús, muerto y resucitado. El mismo Jesús que hoy en el evangelio se despedía de sus amigos en el transcurso de la última cena, pocas horas antes de morir.
Un Jesús que les recordaba el mandamiento del amor y la promesa del envío del Espíritu Santo para que fuera el alma de la Iglesia naciente. Un Jesús que, previendo conflictos y divisiones entre los suyos, les hablaba de la paz, de la armonía que debía reinar entre todos. Recordemos a los enfermos de nuestra Parroquia. Hoy es la Pascua del Enfermo y estamos llamados a rezar por ellos, a acompañarles con nuestra presencia cercana, con nuestras atenciones. Hagamos memoria de las palabras de Jesús: “Estuve enfermo y me visitasteis.” Y recemos también por los chicos/as recién confirmados.
