FIESTA DE LA EPIFANÍA
Esta fiesta de la Epifanía rellena la imagen que tenemos tradicionalmente en nuestros hogares con el portalito de Belén. Se acercan los magos de Oriente guiados por una estrella. Tal y como anunciaron los profetas el Niño habría nacido en Belén; y, siguiendo los pasos que les marcaba la estrella, los magos preguntaron a Herodes en qué lugar concreto estaba el Mesías.
Se inquietó Herodes porque resultaba un peligro aquel futuro rey de Israel y en secreto y a escondidas manda llamar a los magos para pedirles el favor que le avisaran en cuanto supieran del Niño. El ansia de poder empaña el corazón de este rey que buscaba su propia gloria, al contrario de todos aquellos que pasaron a adorar al Niño en Belén.
Al llegar a la casa se encuentran con María y Jesús recién nacido; y postrándose le adoraron y le ofrecieron sus regalos: oro, incienso y mirra. Regalos que serían también preludio de lo que habría de venir.
La epifanía nos muestra la gloria de Dios; es la estrella de Belén la que guía a los magos hacia el Mesías; un pequeño signo del cielo que señala y muestra al Salvador entre los hombres. Una insignificante estrella en la que aquellos hombres descubrieron el signo del nacimiento de Dios.
Son muchos los signos que nosotros hemos tenido a lo largo de la historia para poder reconocerlo y sin embargo no nos hemos acercado a Belén para adorarlo. Muchas personas las que nos han señalado, con su ejemplo y sus palabras, que Dios ha nacido para salvarnos. Signos insignificantes, que leídos a la luz de la fe nos hacen llegar hasta la casa para encontrarnos a María y al Salvador.
Nuestros cofres no están llenos de oro, ni incienso, ni mirra; pero sí tienen una gran capacidad de amar; nuestro corazón ha sido creado para el amor, puesto que ha sido hecho a imagen y semejanza de Dios y Dios es amor. Aquellos magos podrían representar a todos los que han sabido releer su historia a la luz de la estrella de Belén, los que se dejaron guiar por la semilla de Dios en sus corazones y los que se postran ante la hermosura de acontecimiento tan grande como la Encarnación del Hijo de Dios.
¡Acércate con tu más hermoso regalo, que no es otro que tu propio corazón, hasta Jesús! Déjate seducir por su mirada y sigue sus caminos; encontrarás toda una vida de felicidad.
